God’s Heart Is… CAA 2024 Speaking Track
Students in the speaking track worked on a variety of creative speaking techniques, like Bible storytelling, speaking with props, and using everyday objects as illustrations. They also shared personal testimonies and collaborated on a group devotion for the final program.

Speaker: Alec Throughout this week we have been looking at one main topic: the heart of God. As teenagers, our nature is to look at that and we start asking questions. “What is the heart of God?” One characteristic of the heart of God is God is holy. God’s holiness is represented perfectly in Psalm 99:2-3 Great is the Lord in Zion;
    he is exalted over all the nations.
Let them praise your great and awesome name--
    he is holy.
Throughout my own life I am very inquisitive and I’ve questioned what the meaning of holy is, because it is only used in the church context, so of course as soon as I figure it out that the definition of holy was to be set apart, a lot of things clicked. Not only that but this verse in particular, the phrase “he is holy” is holy from the rest of the verse. It's set apart from the rest of it. God’s heart is holy. God’s heart is also empathetic.

Speaker: Andie We see God's empathy in Psalm 34: 18 which says The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. After his narrow escape from Saul in the Philistine city, David wrote Psalm 34 to praise his God's protection and provision. This verse tells us that he sits with us in our brokenness and shares in our pain. At the same time, he mends our eternal souls that have been trampled on by the adversary. Being fully God and fully man, Jesus experienced every human emotion, so that we may be intimately known by our Lord. He was the perfect representation of heaven's understanding of us. God's heart is empathetic. God's heart is also artistic.

Speaker: Brynlee We see that God is an artist in Psalm 139:13-14 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
God created each and every one of us. Every. Single. Detail about us is carefully crafted with his artistic hand. Like the passage says, he knit us together in our mother's wombs. But not only did he create mankind, but he painted the heavens and the seas. The sunrise you saw this morning and the sunset you will see tonight. We are living proof of an artistic God; therefore, we are his masterpieces. God's heart is artistic. God's heart is also redeeming.

Speaker: Carson We can see God's redeeming heart in Psalm 111 verse 9. He provided redemption for his people;
    he ordained his covenant forever--
    holy and awesome is his name.
God has given us all we will ever need and the beginning of Psalm 111 states the gifts that God has bestowed upon us. For example, his many wonders like nature, animals, weather, and us ourselves. Food, power, and the ability to rule over all the lands. Now, these are all amazing and beautiful gifts, but the best gift we can receive is the ability to be redeemed, forgiven, and saved. Without God's redeeming heart there would be no hope for us. We couldn't even make it to heaven. But it's because of God's redeeming heart that we have a chance at eternal life. God's heart is redeeming, and God's heart is also trustworthy.

Speaker: Neidon We can see the trustworthiness of God's heart in Psalm 28 verse 7 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
    my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
    and with my song I praise him.
The Lord our God is our rock and our firm foundation. His words are true and leads us away from chaos and into order. Anyone who believes in him and follows his teachings are on the right path. When we trust in the Lord and obey him we are given his strength and his shield. There's no one more worthy of our trust than our God, so trust in the Lord.
