Students from a variety of experience levels came together to learn how to fuse technical and artistic concepts to better tell stories, draw in the viewer’s eye, and craft thoughtful and compelling photographs. In addition to the in-class learning time, students got to take photos together in a variety of locations and lighting situations. They also got to visit downtown, hang out at the creek, and tour a working photographer’s studio as he took photos of Joplin police officers. In addition they worked with models, collaborated on concepts, tried out studio lights and other lighting types, and experimented with finding subjects, editing, composition, and more.
